Astwood '20' 23rd July 2025

Date: Wednesday 23/07/25 19:00

Course: F5v/20 Astwood | Course Description and Risk Assessment | GPS course map

Meeting Point: Astwood High Street (https://w3w.co/digested.answer.hinted)

Backup Course: Stoke Hammond F5d/10

Notes: This is a classic sporting course. Note that we will use the start in Astwood rather than near the Bike Bus - this event covers two laps of the usual Astwood course, for a 20 mile event.

Enter this event. Entries cost £5 for NBRC members, £7 for non-members, and are handled via ResultsBase. You can join the North Bucks Road Club for £10. First time? Read how the entry system works. Results will be posted on the NBRC and ResultsBase website shortly after the event is complete.

Please note a protective helmet and front and rear lights are mandatory. Time trials are ridden on open roads, and riders must ride accordingly. Review this statement regarding safety and insurance.

Results

I was unable to take part in this evening's two lap event on the Astwood course. Hopefully the recently resurfaced sections of the course didn't present any difficulty to those that did ride.

Jim Eastment was there once agin to take photos. His 'best of' gallery is below, and you can also view the whole collection at higher resolution.

Congratulations to Lindz for the win this evening, and to Ian for first place on veteran standard. Chris Old only faced one lap.

Many thanks to Dick for timekeeping and signage and to Steph for stepping into my shoes to assist Dick. Also Jim was there for the phtotography once again. I'm grateful to Stuart and Ian for providing updates on the road conditions ahead of this event.
