I imagine everyone was a bit relieved that the event stayed dry and the wind had dropped considerably since the previous day! This was the first time we'd used the Cranfield '10' course - actually a fair bit over 10 miles. 14 riders entered, 13 rode.

Congratulations to Dan for the win, and to Simon for taking first place on vet standard (good to see the Cannings tifosi out on the course!)

2025 NBRC TT League so far

I assemble the league tables using my TT Spreadsheet. Points are awarded by place in each event, from 150 points for the winner, there’s a sliding scale for events where there are more than 15 riders. We don’t have enough women riders to make a separate set of tables viable. However, the veteran standards seem to reflect age and gender related handicapping such that all riders can be included together.

The points total reflects a rider’s seven best placings - first place earns 150 points, second place 140 and so forth (there's a bit more to this where we have more than 15 riders). This means that early in the TT series, riders who take part in all of the races have an advantage – this evens out as the series progresses. It also means that riders missing some events aren’t overly penalised.

With seven events now completed, the two league tables are as below. Robert Saunders leads both, mostly by dint of riding all seven events – expect him to drop in the league tables as other riders complete seven events! Francesca Ryde is the highest placed woman in the main league table, While Steph Cousins in the best placed woman on veteran standard. Also notable is Isaac Barral sitting in second place in the main table.
