Brogborough '10' - Course change to Astwood - 29th July 2026

Because the Brogborough course is no longer avaialibe, we'll be using the Astwood course this week.

Notes: This is a classic sporting course. Note that we will use the start in Astwood rather than near the Bike Bus.

Notes: A fast course with several roundabouts. There are traffic lights on the course – if they are at red, you must stop. The start is at the top of Brogborough hill.
Entries cost £5 for NBRC members, £7 for non-members. You can join the North Bucks Road Club for £10. First time riding one of our time trials?
Please note a protective helmet and front and rear lights are mandatory. Time trials are ridden on open roads, and riders must ride accordingly. Review this statement regarding safety and insurance.

Results
A very warm evening with a stiff headwind on the opening leg to Chicheley faced the eight starters for this event, moved from the Brogborough course to the Astwood course. An earlier 'pitch inspection' revealed that the recent surface dressing hadn't left Chicheley Road with dangerous piles of gravel. Many riders improved their times compared with the last time we rode on this course: winner Jamie Wooldridge thinks he may have done a course PB!
So, congratulations to Jamie for the win - on actual time and veteran standard! He had a pretty significant margon over second placed Stuart Tarry and third placed Rob Saunders. Thanks to everyone who turned out on this hot evening. Everyone ended up at The Old Swan for rehydration therapy afterwards, including Dick (timekeeper), Ian (TT secretary and photographer) and John (NBRC treasurer, out for an evening spin on his gravel bike). Unfortunately the pub had run out of Guinness Zero when I went for a second glass!
